Black Cat Brand Refresh
In 2020 I had the privilege of refreshing the Black Cat Fireworks brand with an updated logo, colors, tag line, font choices and more. Since 2020 I have applied the new visual identity to the Black Cat website, packaging, signs, advertisements, and social media.
What I Did and Why
• Kept basic shape of cat to maintain familiarity with a logo consumers have known and trusted for decades
• Reduced number of colors from 11 to 5 making it easier and cheaper to print
• Simplified elements in nose, whiskers, teeth, making the logo more visible at smaller sizes such as mobile
• Changed yellow color from lemon to a vintage gold to communicate the history and heritage of the Black Cat brand
• Cleaned up font to make more readable and symmetrical
